This small, veteran-owned business is operated by an awesome husband and wife team, Mark & Angela Mohn

Angie has spent much of her life trying to find relief from debilitating migraines through natural health and wellness. In early 2017, it became her mission to design a lifestyle centered around being toxin-free.

Having 3 dachshunds and a husband, Angie also wanted to ensure that she could keep the health and well-being of her fur babies and Mark on track as well. Enter the world of essential oils!

Angie used the oils on her dogs and on Mark as well. Lavender was the start of it all, and within a short amount of time there was a noticeable sense of peace and relaxation; not to mention better sleep!

Soon enough, oil bottles began to accumulate and take over every extra cabinet and drawer in the house, and a collection was taking place for the pups + hubby + herself. Quickly she found that the oils needed to be organized instead of being thrown into drawers or randomly placed throughout the house.

As a highly organized person, this scenario of chaos oil bottles was not on par with the toxin-free and natural beautiful household Angie was designing.

Mark loves spending time being creative. He finds his woodshop a place of zen where he can create things that are both beautifully handcrafted and useful.

When he saw the frustration that Angie was having over the unorganized yet growing collection of oil bottles… an idea came to light. He knew he could create a beautifully handcrafted shelf that could store and display all her oils in an organized way that also provided quick access.

Soon after showing family and friends Mark’s creations (proud-wife moments), the two ventured out to share their love of handmade organization and started Oily Hounds in July 2017. The company is lovingly named after their 3 dachshunds (the true “oily hounds”), who also benefited from essential oils.

Angie and Mark knew that they weren’t the only ones who used essential oils and needed a beautiful display to organize a growing collection.

Friends who also live toxin-free lives inquired where to get such beautiful handmade wooden shelves, with incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail! At first, there were a few, and then quickly more people shared and inquired… and before they knew it – Mark & Angie had a growing enterprise on their hands.

We create made-to-order, personalized, and handcrafted beautiful wall shelves and tabletop organizers and displays for essential oils. We also create coin holders, inspirational signs, and other unique and personalized gifts.

Today, we are still sharing our love and appreciation for essential oils and toxin-free living. We also use our own handmade products in our home before we offer them to the public. We provide highly skilled craftsmanship in the creation of each organized design. We are continuing to expand upon Mark’s creative process bestowed upon us by incorporating different gift ideas made from scratch out of wood. God has richly blessed our lives, as well as the hands of Mark to make such beautiful designs.
